Nov 4 This is a reminder that downtown’s new First Fridays will start this Friday, Nov. 4.  The events this summer were so successful that the City Council has approved a resolution to allow the public consumption of alcohol on the first Friday of each month from 5pm-10pm until September 2012.  Just like the past First Fridays, these events will allow “open container.”   These events will differ from the past First Fridays in that they are not Main Street hosted and there will be no live entertainment outside of the restaurants.
This open container resolution(see attached resolution) will allow patrons to be served beer or wine in a 16-ounce or smaller clear cup (or smaller) inside a participating downtown restaurant and obtain a wristband to walk around a smaller portion of downtown commercial district(see attached resolution) between 5pm-10pm on the first Friday of each month through September 2012.

Christmas on Green Street is on the first Sunday in December each year.
